Did you know that your undeleted emails are bad for climate change?

When you leave emails to gather, they’re stored in servers all around the world in massive data centres that use lots of electricity to run. As we already know, electricity is mainly generated by fossil fuels, which produce CO², one of the main contributing gases to the climate’s rising temperature.

If all email users deleted just 10 emails, it would save approximately 39,035 cubic metres of CO²E! I’ve always been interested in digital minimalism, so I have been trying to keep my inbox tidy, but now there’s even more reason to do so! Growing up in the digital age has let me take screens and unnecessary electricity for granted, and we need to take a step back and I think we should all appreciate living without relying as much on it.

Make sure you delete unnecessary emails, unsubscribe from those annoying lists that aren’t adding value to your life, empty your spam and bin regularly, as well as sending less emails. See you soon!
